Beagleboard booted with keyboard and mouse

After some modding of a USB connector (by P-A) we got the beagleboard up and running with working keyboard and mouse.

“Snake on a phone” in high resolution (1280×720) is really awesome! All we need now is a portable 230V feed for the screen.

Highscore list (snake):

P-A:  29

Andreas N: 25

Andreas D: 0….

We will meet next tuesday, Lund office as usual. If anyone is interested in attending, let us know before so that we can buy more cake :)

oh.. and the proof:

Programming Android applications

Hi all!

Would it be interesting for more people than the app project participants to learn more about writing Android applications? My idea is to include some education at the app project meetings.

- Installing Android SDK & Eclipse. Working in Eclipse.
- Layouts, Activities, Views, Resources. Creating a simple GUI.
- Intents, BroadcastReceivers, Intent filters.
- WIFI
- GPS
- Sensors
- and more…

Please tell me if this sounds interesting.

Android WLAN/GPS app project meeting

There is no separate app project meeting this week, instead I´ll see you all on wednesday on the meeting for all projects. If you haven´t had the opportunity to try the HTC G1 phone yet then contact me. I think it would be great if everyone had tried to run something from within the Android SDK directly on the phone before our next app project meeting. Try to use a MapActivity too.

Android WLAN/GPS app project meeting

The former “TriangulationDroid” project, now called the Android WLAN/GPS app project, will have a meeting next monday (11/5 17:00-18:00) at CC Office in the Ideon Beta 6 building (we will see if the room Maverick is free).

If you are interested in joining this project then come to the meeting or contact Mats Lundquist. Right now we are five participants.

When do we want our next meeting with the whole group?

Hello

When do you want our next meeting? Should we try to have it in 2 weeks or so? Week 20?

I was hoping that all groups would have time to meet before that at least once so that we get started.  Maybe we could have each group present, in a few slides, what they’ve been doing and what they plan to do.

If anyone has a specific subject they want to talk about or hear more about, please post here and maybe someone can jump in!

Meeting the 16/4

This meeting we decided more or less what to do.
We have decided to concentrate our efforts on 2 major and 2 minior projects.
1. Port android to the Beagleboard (4-5 pepole has signed for this)
2. Add support for BT-HID to the android (4-5 people has signed for this)
3. TriangulationDroid (1-2 people)
4. Test application (1-2 people)

The work on project 1 has begun with an attempt to get the beagleboard to boot using an existing linux project, to verify its functionality and learn how to make it boot.
Projects 2-4 I currently have no status on.

Last meeting Thursday 2/4

This meeting was mostly a planing meeting for setting up some goals for the group. We had many great Ideas for what we could do both as useful and fun activities. Here is a list of what we thought of:

  • Install Android on a normal PC – C competence
  • Install Android on the BeagleBoard – C competence
  • Add support for BT-HID to the kernel – C competence
  • Write a test application for automated regression testing – C competence (maybe some Java)
  • TriangleDroid(aka. PontenDroid) application to triangulate the position of open WiFi networks (gps/wifi) – Java competence
  • PS3droid, using BT-HID to control the PS3 (general HID + skinning) – Java competence (after point 3 has been implemented)
  • Add support for WAV encoding – C and Java competence
  • Add support for NFS (network filesystem) – C competence(server support)
  • And for Andreas, port LabView to Android, probably sell able to a big telecom company near us, we could make millions with this project
  • Please give us input on what we should put our efforts on, and note interest on the points you feel like implementing.

And here is the customary cake/cookie/snack image:
